FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have any options when it comes to managing my plan?

View Answer ↓

When you are approved for an NDIS plan, you are able to choose how you would like to manage your finances.

The four options are:
• Self-Managed: The uploading of invoices and tracking of the budget are your responsibility.

• Agency Managed: The NDIA will manage your payments, and connect you with NDIS registered providers.

• Plan Managed: The plan manager pays your invoices from NDIS registered or unregistered providers and keeps an eye on your budget.

• A blend of all: The NDIS is all about supporting choice, so you can create a combination of any of the 3 options if you would like.

Who is a plan manager?

View Answer ↓

A plan manager has experience in bookkeeping or accounting and must be registered with the NDIS. A plan manager oversees the financial parts of your plan by handling the payment of invoices from your providers and managing your budget.

How does plan management work?

View Answer ↓

We pay the invoices from your providers on your behalf, and help you with managing your budget.

What is the benefit of choosing plan management?

View Answer ↓

A plan manager takes care of all the financial administration for you. Not only does this save you stress and time, but it helps you get the most out of your plan. We work with the NDIS daily, so we can answer any questions you might have, and guide you through the process.

Does it cost me anything to have a plan manager?

View Answer ↓

The best part about plan management is that it will cost you nothing! Every NDIS plan has the ability to include Improved Life Choices in the budget, as well as your other budgets.

How can I become Plan Managed?

View Answer ↓

To have ‘Improved Life Choices’ included in your plan, you need to request this at a planning meeting or review with your Local Area Coordinator, or the NDIS. If you already have a plan, and would like to add Improved Life Choices, you must contact the NDIS to request a review.

How can I change from NDIA agency to plan managed?

View Answer ↓

To change to a plan manager, you will need to change your plan by contacting your NDIA planner or Local Area Coordinator, and request a soft touch review.

How do I join MDPM?

View Answer ↓

Simply call or email to discuss your plan and what steps we need to take from there. We look forward to having you on board!

Can I change plan managers?

View Answer ↓

Yes, the choice is yours! You can swap plan manager at any time, but make sure you have read your service agreement, and you know how much notice you need to provide.

Do I get any reports or statements with an update on my budget?

View Answer ↓

Yes. Reports with your balance are sent out monthly, and include all the invoices which have been paid. If you have questions about the report, or would like an update, you can either call or email us, login to the NDIS portal, or use the Careview App to see your current balance.

What does my plan cover?

View Answer ↓

The NDIS can be complex, but we stay up to date with all the latest information so we can let you know what you can and cannot claim. Just call us with any queries.

How can I use my allocated funds?

View Answer ↓

First, we have a chat about your plan and budget either over the phone, or via email. Then you simply choose the service providers you would like to use, and ask them to send the invoices on to us. We do the rest!

Am I able to change service providers?

View Answer ↓

Who you decide to use as a service provider is entirely your choice, and you are entitled to change providers if you want. If for some reason you do decide to change providers, the terms of their cancellation policy will be stated on your service agreement with them.

How do you know the invoices you receive are correct?

View Answer ↓

We will always verify an invoice with you, based on your preferred approval option – either via email, the Careview app or even auto-approval.

How long will it take you to pay my provider after you have received the invoice?

View Answer ↓

We aim to pay your providers promptly within 1-2 business days from when you approve their invoice. This helps to ensure your budgets remain as up to date and current as possible.

Who decides what you will/will not pay?

View Answer ↓

The NDIS has a list of guidelines which give participants and plan managers the rules and procedures for deciding what can be considered reasonable and necessary support, service or purchases through an NDIS plan. Your choice and control are always at the forefront of any plan, and through experience and research, we can guide you through effective budgeting of your funds.

How long have you been managing NDIS plans?
