NDIS funds can be managed in three ways:
NDIA-Managed
This is sometimes referred to as Agency-managed. Under this type of management, you can only use registered providers and your providers claim payment electronically from your funding.
Plan-Managed
If you choose this option, a Plan Manager will be funded in your plan. They will pay your providers and keep track of all of your financials. With a plan manager, you can use registered and unregistered providers, and the plan manager may help you find support and providers.
Self-Managed
Self-managing means you take care of your own budgeting, financials and reporting. You have control over your funding and have to manage your record-keeping and payment of provider invoices. It allows independence and flexibility in managing your supports.
A Blend of All
The NDIS is all about supporting choice, so you can create a combination of any of the 3 options if you would like.
